Orlando Carnival 2011 Memorial Day Weekend
It’s not just Memorial Day weekend around Orlando. In fact, Orlando celebrates Memorial Day weekend with a little Caribbean flair. Celebrated for almost two decades, the Orlando Carnival, is a Mardi-Gras style celebration held at Festival Field.
Venture out to Festival Field on Sunday, May 29th for a Caribbean style celebration. This year’s celebration has a extensive list of performers from local to national fame. Give a warm Orlando welcome to performers such as:
- Ricci Jai
- Leon Coldero
- Iwer George
A slew of other performers and bands will also take the Orlando Carnival stage, and while you busy dancing, be sure to work up an appetite. Island inspired and New Orleans style food will be available for visitors; and in addition to the food, visitors to the carnival will be able to find and purchase authentic items and gifts from a host of Orlando artisans and vendors.
Gates open at 10 a.m. at Festival Field. For more information, call (407) 293-2440. Festival Field is located at 400 Rio Grande Avenue in Orlando.
