Seminole County 2nd Healthiest County In Central Florida
Residents of Seminole County obviously know the importance of taking care of themselves. According to a recent survey, Seminole County is one of the healthiest counties in Central Florida.
The ranking, which rates the overall health of all 50 states, finds that Seminole county is only second behind Collier County — Naples and Marco Island — ranked number one with the healthiest residents in Florida. The standings find a higher concentration of healthier residents reside in Southern Florida, while unhealthier residents are concentrated in the north.
Union County, which is just west of Jacksonville, was ranked the least healthy in Florida. Factors that play into the health findings include premature death, low-birth weight babies and those who report having health issues in the prior months.
Seminole County ranked 5th in health categories measuring the health factors such as tobacco use, sexually transmitted diseases, drinking, diet and exercise and more. The findings are also considerate of the financial standing of residents in county, proximity to parks and recreation and availability of healthy food choices.
